Get to know me

I am an instructional designer with a lifelong background in teaching.

It all started back in my teen years, when I taught dance and designed all my routines around the abilities of my students to make them shine.  Later in life I continued my love for dance by choreographing multiple musicals for several years at local community theaters.

I went to college twice while living in Canada.  Once for Recreational Leadership and then for Early Childhood Education.  Both of these are equivalent to having two AS degrees in the United States, according to international education consultants, Josef Silny and Associates Inc.  Everything I have ever done in my life has been somehow related to teaching and education.

The picture displayed here was taken inside my Holistic Preschool that I designed.  I did it all; from choosing the "green" building materials that were used during construction, to the foods that we ate, and the mindful curriculum that was taught.  Yup, that is right, I have been an Entrepreneur too.

Fast forward to 2017 when I was at a crossroads in my life, wondering what my next adventure might be, I was hired by Vistana Signature Experiences.  I quickly excelled there.  Within six months I joined the Learning and Development team as a Corporate Facilitator.  Eighteen months after that I was invited to become a Training Developer.  This is when I became happy again!  Being introduced to Articulate, with Rise and Storyline 360 was very exciting, yet challenging, and exactly what I was looking for, without even knowing it.

I have since earned the designation of ATD Master Instructional Designer through the Association of Talent Development (ATD).

Now, I combine all of my life experiences into creating fun and engaging eLearning.

In my free time

I love to explore and learn about new places.  I enjoy all types of travel from horseback riding to airplanes or going on a road trip.  No matter where I go, there is always something new and exciting for me to learn about and experience.  My love for learning is what drives me to create fun eLearning experiences for others.

I enjoy reading especially when it expands my current knowledge and personal development.  Some of my favorite authors, in no particular order include: Robin Sharma, Deepak Chopra, Daniel Quinn and Robert Kiyosaki.

I love being in the outdoors, whether I am hiking, biking, kayaking or just strolling along a beach and breathing in the salty ocean air.  I have a very adventurous nature.  I take a lot of pictures during my excursions and then create annual photo diaries.

I can't forget to mention that in my free time I love musical theatre, baking and creating yummy vegan treats. I have been playing the Taiko Japanese Drums for a couple years, and I also belong to a non-profit organization called, Loop.  Through them I have volunteered my time at multiple Christian concerts.

My Dream Job

My greatest desire is to work at a place that is in alignment with my holistic beliefs, and offers a healthy life-work balance.

I would like to unite my personal passions with my profession.  I have an appetite to grow and learn, therefore, anything I do not know I will gladly research and spend the time to figure out.  I also enjoy the experience of collaborative teamwork.

The best part about being an instructional designer is the ability to be remote.  Even though I am a Canadian citizen who currently works and resides in Florida, I would love to be employed at a company that allows me to travel while still working.

For example, maybe I could rent an RV or Airbnb for a couple weeks?  So long as there is a strong internet connection, I could work during the day, and have my nights and weekends free to explore national parks, historic places, or try a new plant-based restaurant! Honestly, I would also be just as happy to move back into a corporate office, just so I can be around the positive energy of others.

Let's get back to business
